Due to letting myself get excited about Christmas in about November and listening to Christmas songs almost every day since I already kind of feel like Christmas is over, and as it’s too early to get out of bed and be bummed out about Christmas being over, I wanted to get pumped about the cool shit that Bangers are planning next year.

So firstly, Andrew came to stay for almost a week and we practised 4 new songs for a 7 inch that we’re planning to record in January/release by Easter.

Secondly, we’re touring the UK in February, for which a few dates have surfaced already and we’re going to some new places which should be really fun.

Thirdly, we’re going to tour Europe in Easter with (gush gush, he’s really swell) Sam Russo, and show him what it’s like to not be miserable and be plied with free beer by friendly Europeans.

Fourthly we should all be living in Exeter by the Summer.

Fifthly we’ll be squeezing in recording a split 7 inch with What-a-Night’s from Japan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7f4YZLG3EA) which will get released as and when.

Sixthly I actually feel Christmassy as all shit. So Merry Christmas. Go and listen to Russo’s depressing Christmas song which whatever Daveinball says was written for me. And have a great few days.

Oh, and on the recommendation of my friend Steve Smith I watched that film Dig! about The Dandy Warhols vs The Brian Jonestown Massacre. It was cool and it’s on Youtube, so do that too.

And finally, anyone who wants a recipe for making a bucket of boozy ginger beer in just 5 days, e-mail me or something.

See you soon.

Having a little trip up to Scotland this weekend for Book Yer Ane Fest in Dundee, this is the furthest north we’ve ever played in the UK, and I’m pretty excited about it! It’s also nicely sandwiched between 2 shows with The Arteries, The Slow Death & Mikey Erg!

THURSDAY 1ST DECEMBER - THE REDHOUSE, SHEFFIELD with The Arteries, The Slow Death, Mikey Erg & Fear of the Wolfingtons

SATURDAY 3RD DECEMBER - KAGE NIGHTCLUB, DUNDEE with Leatherface, Antillectual, Departures, Kaddish….

SUNDAY 4TH DECEMBER - BASEMENT 20, LIVERPOOL with The Arteries, The Slow Death, Mikey Erg, Crocodile God, Watch Commander, Throwing Stuff…

I’m sorry to anybody who gets bored of me posting reviews of our not-very-new-anymore album here, but this actually cleared up some of my back home blues for a minute.

http://www.roomthirteen.com/cd_reviews/12378/Bangers__Small_Pleasures.html

At first listen you may think that the band are a bunch of serious punks that have a depressing outlook on life and are close to choosing which way is best to leave this so-called life…

In other news, two thirds of us are back home from America (Andrew is holidaying in a Florida swamp) where we had a very nice time with the deservedly popular Timeshares and the very inspiring Mike Harpring.

For anybody who didn’t go, Fest was wild as always and Underground Railroad to Candyland kind of stole the weekend. Except that Hamish says Punch did. And I accidentally took speed which was nowhere near as funny as that time Matt Calvinball smoked crack.

See you in the North, or at WTFest soon.

Nothing very new to say about Bangers at the moment, but I did find a flat out bad review of Small Pleasures to share.

Also Loren from Scene Point Blank said some slightly nicer things about it.

Thanks to Sebastio and Loren.

See y’all in the US.

As you may or may not know, we’re off to the USA next month to play The Fest 10 and a string of east coast dates with the awesome Timeshares (exact dates will be up here soon). Flights are all booked and we’re raring to go. But as I’m sure you do know we’re all constantly skint so we’re selling off a few rare / out of print records and test pressings to help pay for all the other stuff (hire car / hotels / merch bills) that seems to be piling up.
You can check out the auctions here. If you want any of this stuff please bid what you can, every little helps!
Our in print records and a few shirts are still available here and you can download all our music and donate us money if you’d like at our bandcamp. That’d help too.
